Brad Levy is the chief executive officer at Symphony, the leading financial markets’ infrastructure and technology platform.
Prior to Symphony, Brad was a partner and executive at global analytics and information provider, IHS Markit, having also served as CEO of MarkitSERV and global head of its loan settlement and software services division. Earlier in his career, he spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs, culminating in his role as managing director and global head of GS’s Principal Strategic Investments Group.
He was recently recognized as CEO of the Year at the 2022 Markets Choice Awards and included in the TabbFORUM 40 Top Innovators in Financial Markets list, highlighting Brad’s deep markets expertise and commitment to driving innovation and tackling inefficiencies in the industry. He had been previously recognized with the Markets Choice Neil DeSena Market Advocate Award for his dedication to driving change as a global leader in financial services.
Brad has served on numerous boards within the financial sector and is a sought-after advisor and speaker.
President & Chief Financial Officer
Ben has a passion for Capital Markets Technology and has spent his career focused on enabling trading organizations to utilize technology that drives efficiency and productivity. Over the past two decades he has held financial and management leadership positions at Charles Schwab, Lehman Brothers, NYSE and IPC where he drove business strategy to adapt to the constantly evolving trading landscape. When not working, Ben enjoys coaching soccer for NJ ODP and his daughter’s teams.
Chief of Staff
Alexandra is chief of staff for Symphony’s executive team. She is responsible for leading priority corporate initiatives, including acquisitions project management, post acquisition integration, board of director communications and capital activities. Alexandra is based in Paris and has been with Symphony for 4 years, primarily in transversal program management roles.
Prior to Symphony, she worked for HSBC Private Bank in Geneva and HSBC Global Markets in Paris, London and Hong Kong, in sales and business management roles. Alexandra coordinated the deployment of the Symphony platform at HSBC across front-office activities globally, where she developed a strong expertise in the product as well as relationships with her Symphony partners who later became her colleagues.
Head of Global Sales & Account Management, Cloud9
Barry Purkis has worked in financial technology for over 25 years, with extensive business development and sales experience in telecommunications, trading systems, network services and managed services. As Global Head of Sales and Managing Director, EMEA, Barry is responsible for managing Cloud9 sales teams, ensuring high standards of conduct and sales excellence, new sales, geographic and revenue growth, and launching and managing Cloud9’s EMEA operation
Before joining Cloud9, Barry was the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Sales for IPC, where he was responsible for growing the business and the successful sales launch of IPC’s Unigy trading system and Connexus data services. Prior to his extensive role with IPC, Barry was a founding member and Commercial Director at Gains International, before being acquired by IPC. In this role he was responsible for all sales and commercial activity, identifying business opportunities, ensuring business profitability and the personal development of all team members.
Barry holds an MBA from Anglia Ruskin University and a DMS and CM from the Open University, both in the United Kingdom. Before he began his career in financial technology, Barry spent nine years in the British Royal Navy, where he earned an HNC and City & Guilds in Electronics.
Chief Operating Officer, Commercial Organization
Brian Hunt has worked in financial technology for almost 20 years, with experience in senior-level administrative and organizational strategy functions.
He is the chief operating officer of the commercial organization at Symphony. In this role he is responsible for supporting all strategy and operations for the CRO. Prior to joining Symphony, Brian served as chief administrative officer for Cloud9 (acquired by Symphony in 2021), where he was responsible for designing and executing effective growth and operational strategies as well as overseeing the Business Development and Partnership functions.
Before joining Cloud9, Brian was director of human resources and global administration at Tradeweb for 15 years, where he helped grow the company from 25 people to 800 worldwide, with a valuation of over $15 billion.
Brian volunteers with the Habitat for Humane Society in NYC and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management Association (SHRM).
Chief Operating Officer, Product and Engineering
Celia Auge has a transversal expertise within strategic and business operations. Celia is the chief operating officer for the Product and Engineering organizations at Symphony, where she is responsible for financial and workforce planning, strategy, organization and internal governance.
Celia started her career as consultant for Ernst & Young in France. Since then, she has spent almost 15 years working for technology companies, including 10 years at travel industry IT leader Amadeus, where she performed various roles including head of VP office and head of strategic planning and operational efficiency, reporting into executive committee members.
She joined Symphony in 2020 as chief of staff for the company’s Product and Engineering functions. Celia is based in Sophia Antipolis, France.
General Counsel
Corinna Mitchell is Symphony’s general counsel. She leads the company’s legal work and operations and is a member of Symphony’s global executive team. She spent 20 years in private legal practice and most recently as General Counsel at financial services investment advisory firm Foxford Advisors LLP. Corinna is based in London.
Chief People Officer
Courtney Panik is the chief people officer at Symphony. She is responsible for designing and executing the company’s talent strategy and creating an inclusive and high-performing culture. Courtney leads all people-related efforts, including talent acquisition and integration, talent management, learning and development, organizational effectiveness, people operations, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Prior to joining Symphony in 2020, she was a VP of human resources at Mastercard, focused on diversifying the company’s product portfolio through mergers and acquisitions. Courtney also spent 10 years at Yahoo, where she held positions in HR business partnership, compensation, employee engagement, and program management, including two international assignments in the United Kingdom and India.
Courtney was recognized with the Excellence in Human Resources Award as part of the Markets Media U.S. Women in Finance Awards 2021.
Chief Information Officer
Dietmar is Symphony’s chief information officer. He leads product management and engineering along with customer support and internal IT. He has a long history of building large-scale critical IT systems and is an open source and open systems believer. Previously he was the senior vice president of Platform Engineering, Global Operations and executive committee member at Amadeus. Dietmar has a deep network in the IT industry. His focus is on product management, mission critical systems engineering and emerging technologies. He is a member of Symphony’s global executive team and a board member of FINOS, the Fintech Open Source Foundation.
Cloud9 Franchise Leader
Gerald (Jerry) Starr is a serial entrepreneur and seasoned business leader. He has worked in financial technology communications for over 30 years, with experience in trading systems, internet-based telecoms, VoIP telecom and FX Markets, and has an exceptional track record for successfully starting companies and leading larger businesses.
He joined Symphony in 2021 with the acquisition of trader voice and electronic communication, Cloud9 Technologies (C9), company he had founded to drive transformational technology.
Prior to C9, Jerry was founder and CEO of Tec Turrets, which was acquired by Tie Communications. He also founded Bridge Electronics, which developed pioneering technology in the foreign exchange markets, and was ultimately acquired by IPC. Following the Bridge acquisition, Jerry became CEO of IPC, leading the company through an LBO until its acquisition by Global Crossing. He was also founder and CEO of Lexar, which developed cloud communications services for the financial markets.
Chief Technology Officer, Markets Voice & Video
Jim has worked in financial technology for over 25 years, with experience in credit and fixed income trading systems, credit derivatives technology, and FpML and XML.
As Chief Technology Officer, Markets Voice & Video at Symphony, Jim is responsible for continually improving and delivering a better experience for Symphony clients over the entire client journey.
Prior to Symphony’s acquisition of Cloud9 in 2021, Jim was the Chief Operating Officer responsible for the lead definition and development of new features for the Cloud9 platform.
Before joining Cloud9, Jim was CTO and Co-founder at InterNex Capital, where he led the technology planning and build for InterNex’s asset-backed alternative lending platform. Prior to founding InterNex, Jim co-founded trueEX, where he was CTO and a member of the board for five years. Early in his career, Jim was the Director of U.S. Credit Derivatives Technology at Barclays.
Jim holds a BSc in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.
Outside of Cloud9, he currently serves as a Mentor at StreetWise Partners for college students on business skills and startup ideas, works as a Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity International for disaster and humanitarian relief, and is an expert on the Scalability Panel for Katerva, helping to find, evaluate and accelerate disruptive sustainable innovations from around the world.
Chief Customer Experience Officer
Jean-Thierry (JT) Dupuy has worked in financial services for over 20 years, with experience in investment banking , equity and fixed income sales and trading systems, customer onboarding, derivative documentation and deal management systems.
As chief customer experience officer at Symphony, JT is responsible for front line support, customer success, technical account management, solution architecture and professional services.
Before joining Symphony JT was the head of investment banking capital markets and research technology at Wells Fargo, where he led the technology planning and build out of numerous platforms. Prior to Wells Fargo, JT also held management positions at Goldman Sachs, CIT, Andersen Consulting and JP Morgan.
Chief Technology Officer, Data and Analytics
Maoz Shact is a technology leader with experience in research and development (R&D), software engineering, technology development and deployments.
He joined Symphony with the acquisition of Amenity Analytics in 2022 and is the chief technology officer for the company’s data and analytics franchise. Based in Israel, Maoz brings deep technical experience from previous roles in Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Pelephone and Ginger Software.
Head of APAC
Marie leads and execute Symphony’s strategy in APAC across revenue generation, brand awareness, location strategy, and product development.
Prior to Symphony Marie was Chief Operating Officer at OpenDoor and prior to that Chief Administrative Officer and Co-Head of Sales.
Before OpenDoor Marie spent more than 40 years at the Interdealer Broker, ICAP where she held various senior and international positions.
Marie began her career as a voice broker and was an early adopter of the transition to electronic trading across a variety of capital markets products. She joined the U.S. Treasury Brokertec team in 2003 and was based in Hong Kong from 2005 to 2015 where she held various eCommerce leadership positions including Head of Product and Business Development for the region. In that capacity, she was responsible for building and deploying electronic solutions for various products in several different jurisdictions.
Marie also represented ICAP APAC as an ASIFMA Board member for seven years. She returned to New York in 2015 as the Manager of eCommerce Business Development for the Americas.
Controller and VP of Finance
Mary Chan is a finance and accounting leader with more than 15 years of experience, including revenue recognition, sales operations, technical accounting, FP&A, financial audits and equity management.
She joined Symphony in 2015 and is the company’s controller and VP of finance, where she is responsible for its global financial operations. Prior to Symphony, she held leadership roles in multiple SaaS and fintech startup companies, the most recent one as SVP of Finance at Xapo. Throughout her career, she has completed four acquisitions and has a successful track record of building repeatable and scalable forecasting and planning processes to help companies grow and scale.
Chief Product Officer
Michael Lynch is our Chief Product Officer responsible for Symphony’s strategic product direction including product vision, design, and development as well as user research.
Prior to Symphony, Michael was Head of Digital Workplace Product Strategy at Goldman Sachs.
Before Goldman Sachs, he spent 12 years at Bloomberg where he held multiple product leadership roles.
Data and Analytics Franchise Leader
Nathaniel (Nate) Storch is an experienced financial industry business leader with over two decades working as an investor, entrepreneur and business builder.
He joined Symphony with the acquisition of Amenity Analytics in 2022. Before co-founding Amenity Analytics, Nate served as managing partner of Pilgrim Hill Capital, where he provided equity-related capital and strategic advice to small and mid-cap companies. Previously, he served as a partner and senior portfolio manager at Swieca Holdings/Talpion Fund Management, partner and head of equities at One East Partners, and head of merger arbitrage research and event-driven healthcare at Highbridge Capital Management.
Nate began his career with Morgan Stanley as an analyst in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring Group and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization.
Head of Communications and Corporate Affairs
Odette is a communications leader and trusted advisor on public and corporate affairs matters, including reputation, stakeholder management and engagement. Her experience spans fintech, investment and corporate banking, retail banking, consumer finance and wealth management.
She is the head of communications and corporate affairs at Symphony, and is based in London. In this role, Odette runs all external and internal communications across the company and regions, as well as Symphony’s corporate sustainability strategy and ESG framework. Prior to Symphony, she held a number of senior roles at Santander Group in Puerto Rico, Boston and London.
Odette is a board member of the Society of Educational Arts (Teatro SEA), a bilingual arts-in-education organization and Latino children’s theater in New York City.
