T. Rowe Price and Symphony Partner to Define Compliant Audio, Video and Screen-Sharing Features for Financial Firms

BALTIMORE, MD AND PALO ALTO, CA, March 8, 2018 – T. Rowe Price Group (NASDAQ-GS: TROW) announced today that it has worked with Symphony Communication Services, LLC to define the must-have features for compliant Audio, Video and Screen Sharing for the financial services industry. These features comprise Symphony Meetings, which will be delivered directly within the Symphony collaboration platform. All communications in Symphony Meetings are protected by the same robust control and compliance features used on the platform.

T. Rowe Price, along with a dozen other financial industry leaders, is planning to roll out Symphony Meetings throughout the organization in the coming months.

The two companies have defined the following must-have features for the financial industry:

  1. An easy to use and flexible interface – Meetings start from chatrooms at the click of a button – eliminating the “ten minute conference tax;”
  2. An immersive experience which combines chat and any uploaded resources within the Meeting;
  3. All Meeting events are captured for data retention and can be recorded for compliance purposes;
  4. Meetings respect existing compliance rules such as Information Barriers; and
  5. Users get access to Meeting-related features based on entitlement controls and company policies.

“Symphony is truly focused on the needs of highly regulated industries like ours, so it’s been a pleasure to define the audio, video and screen sharing requirement of the finance industry with their team. We look forward to rolling out Symphony Meetings within our organization,” adds Nigel Faulkner, Global Head of Technology, T.Rowe Price.

“T. Rowe Price’s partnership has been a critical step as we bring Symphony Meetings to the entire financial services community,” says David Gurlé, Symphony Founder and CEO. “Symphony Meetings offers immediate, immersive and protected communications directly within our workflow and collaboration platform, bringing Symphony a step closer to becoming the digital operating system for the entire industry.”

Symphony will be showcasing Symphony Meetings and the future of secure communication for the enterprise during Enterprise Connect March 12-15 in Orlando, Florida. Visitors to Enterprise Connect are encouraged to visit Symphony on the tradeshow floor at booth 444, or attend panel “Team Collaboration Governance: Best Practices for Compliance & Security” with Symphony’s Chief Security Officer Lawrence Miller, and panel “Managing Team Collaboration in a Multi-App Environment” with Symphony’s Chief Product Officer John “JC” Christensen.
