Celebrating 10 Years of Symphony: Leading the Way in Fintech
Symphony turns 10! Discover how we’re transforming the financial industry through trust, passion, and cutting-edge technology.
At Symphony, we’re in the business of enabling you to work the way you want to work. When we introduce new features to the Symphony product, we’re not just responding to customer feedback, we’re partnering with our customers to implement the functions and enhancements that address their specific needs.
The new features we launched today allow you to better manage the way they receive notifications and locate the information they need. We’ve also improved speed on both desktop and mobile, introduced new capabilities to support trust and compliance, and added two new apps to Symphony Market.
SEPARATE THE SIGNAL FROM THE NOISE
We know that all messages are not created equal: some information is time-sensitive or critical, and the rest is not. Our new features allow users to reduce distractions and quickly surface the information that is most important to them. Users can now clear notifications all at once from their left navigation, as well as mute conversations they no longer wish to track on a daily basis.
STAY ORGANIZED IN AND OUT OF THE OFFICE
In a fast-paced, always-on work environment, users need to keep track of tasks and information at their desks and on-the-go. Our new pinned chats feature allows users to keep important conversations at the top of their chat lists for easy reference, and mobile bookmarks and replies enhance productivity on mobile devices.
DISCOVER CONTENT IN CONTEXT
With information and data flowing continuously, and multiple conversations happening at once, determining where to focus next can be a challenge. Symphony now helps point users in the right direction via recommended chat rooms based on the users they engage with most often. We’ve also introduced two new apps: FIS MarketMap Live Charts delivers real-time FIS market data through powerful, visually rich, interactive charts provided by ChartIQ that can be shared across the secure Symphony network. UBS LiveDesk by UBS AG provides financial commentary from UBS traders, interwoven with in-depth content from UBS Knowledge Network and UBS Research.
Our team at Symphony prides itself on partnering with customers to create the best possible user experience without compromising the security or complexity their businesses demand. We’re looking forward to making more product improvements, especially around Symphony 2.0, recently announced at Symphony Innovate 2019.
New customers: contact Symphony to get started. Existing customers: don’t see these features? Reach out to your Symphony administrator for more information.

FDC3 aims to simplify communication between different financial applications. Traditionally, traders juggle multiple displays, manually transferring data. FDC3 enables automatic context sharing between these applications, saving time and reducing errors. Common uses span from pre-trade to post-trade activities.
Symphony, a member of the open-source foundation FINOS, is deeply involved in developing FDC3 and promoting its use in global capital markets. Our focus is standardizing integration APIs, giving customers flexibility in choosing their Desktop Integration Platform provider while supporting FDC3.
The 2020s are an unprecedented decade of disruption and every market participant is either the disruptor…or the disrupted. Today, we stand at the precipice of artificial general intelligence and every well-run organization should be actively seeking to disrupt themselves right now. Symphony has been able to remain almost a decade ahead of disruption by understanding one simple truth—thriving through disruption. This demands three things from your technology: resiliency, stability and flexibility.
