Symphony joins the Women’s Empowerment Principles as signatory

New York and London, March 7, 2024 – Symphony – the leading markets infrastructure and technology platform – is pleased to announce that it has joined the Women’s Empowerment Principles as a signatory. In doing so, Symphony has committed to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community with the guidance of the WEPs.

Established by UN Women, the United Nations entity working for gender equality and the empowerment of women, the WEPs are informed by international labor and human rights standards and grounded in the recognition that businesses have a stake in, and a responsibility for, gender equality and women’s empowerment.

By joining the WEPs community, Symphony has signaled its commitment to this agenda at the highest levels of the company and to work collaboratively in multi stakeholder networks to foster business practices that empower women. These include equal pay for work of equal value, gender-responsive supply chain practices and zero tolerance against sexual harassment in the workplace.

“At Symphony, we take pride in our support for UN Women and the Women’s Empowerment Principles, as our team is focused on shaping a present and a future where gender equality is the new reality. We are committed to the further development of talent practices that foster progress in gender equality through unbiased recruitment, performance management, and pay decisions,” said Symphony CEO Brad Levy.

WEPs are a primary vehicle for corporate delivery on gender equality dimensions of the 2030 agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Symphony announced its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by joining the United Nation Global Compact in early 2023.
