Symphony Beta Launches!
Today is a big day.
I’m excited to announce that Beta version of Symphony is now available to our enterprise customers. This marks an important milestone in our product roadmap with 80 percent of our core functionality now available, with the rest to follow shortly. Since our Alpha version of Symphony, we now have over 50,000 industry professionals and the daily message number already exceeding the 2 million threshold.
A New Category of Communication | Taking a Step Away from Messaging Apps
Communication is the human connection. Whether it’s in our personal or professional lives, through words or images, with happy or sad emotions, we depend on communication to strengthen our relationships, share our thoughts, and organize our lives.
A New Company, A New Way to Communicate – Symphony Encryption Software
It has been a while since my last blog post, but as you’ll soon discover, it will have been worth the wait.
Today, we announced that the world’s leading financial institutions have acquired Perzo Inc., and together we have created Symphony. The new company will provide a secure communication and workflow platform for professionals and enterprises to seamlessly exchange high-value content and information while being compliant with various regulations.
Perzo is live!
I am very pleased to announce that we have released the Perzo.com beta today.
In building Perzo we have looked at the state of art of today’s communication tools such as email, SMS, MMS, IM, Chat Rooms, Presence, Social Networks, and Forums, and brought together the best of these tools, so that you can interact with your personal network with ease, peace of mind and efficiency.
Best Way to Communicate
Every day, I use a plethora of tools to communicate with my personal network of family, friends, and colleagues, I use gmail, SMS, WhatsApp, iMessage, Skype, Facebook, and LinkedIn. I don’t know about you, but despite all the benefits, these applications have complicated my ability to communicate effectively.
Our Journey in 2012
As we are approaching the end of 2012 I thought I should share with you what we have accomplished this year.
We have been working hard since September to create the Perzo experience. We started by developing the web front-end of Perzo and are glad of it, as it turned out to be the right challenge to tackle first. We have defined our Minimum Viable Product (MVP), developed the user stories, user flows, wireframes, designs and started coding and testing.
Alea Jacta Est…
I am a little nervous; It’s the kind of nervousness that you only have yourself to blame for. I have been thinking about what Perzo should be for a long time now, and I have pitched the idea many times to family, friends, colleagues, investors and VCs. I have even managed to convince most of them about the validity of the idea and even got the founding capital and the team to start Perzo. But now, I am taking the idea to a broader, much broader public, and am nervous about the reaction. It feels like everything I have done so far was the rehearsal for what I am about to say today. This is it: “alea jacta est”.

Read All About It: We Say Thank You to the Media
Over the past two weeks, I have traveled from Palo Alto, to New York, to London, to Singapore and to Hong Kong – meeting with reporters, customers and partners across the globe to talk about the launch of the Symphony application. It has been a rewarding trip. I’m excited to be back in our HQ in Palo Alto to write the next chapter of Symphony. We have much to do.
Happy First Anniversary Symphony
This week marks the one-year anniversary of Symphony. It has been quite a ride – both exhilarating and fun. We’ve formed a family who has spent long days together to accomplish one thing: build and launch Symphony.
And now I can say that Symphony is used in 79 countries with 35,000 active users. We have 140 employees in Palo Alto, New York, London, Singapore and Hong Kong. I am very proud of what we have accomplished.

2015 Year in Review: Happy Holidays from Symphony!
What an amazing year 2015 has been! I was once asked what makes a successful entrepreneur. I replied that grit, resourcefulness, and ability to sell your vision are the key ingredients for anybody to be successful. The past 12 months have proven me right as we, all the “Symphonians,” have been able to demonstrate those skills to make 2015 an exceptional year for us.
Defining the future of work at Symphony Innovate 2016
This past year has seen the debut of Symphony’s secure collaboration platform, its widespread adoption across the most economically influential industry in the world, a host of strategic partners offering their content through our growing app ecosystem, and the release of our mobile apps for iPhone and Android.
The path to innovation
Our second anniversary conference, Symphony Innovate 2016, was a major success on multiple levels. Our conference space buzzed with top executives and senior directors across financial services, including FinTech Studios, Dow Jones, IHS Markit, and Selerity discovering and sharing how the future of work—and the platform that powers it—is evolving. We debuted new features including Symphony Meetings for multi-modal collaboration, a host of comprehensive integrations with Salesforce, Github, Jira, Trello, and Zapier, and our Webhooks API.
Innovate 2017: The Power of Community
I couldn’t be more proud of what our team accomplished at Symphony Innovate 2017. We set out with lofty goals to double all our metrics from last year, and we did it! With over 500 customers, partners and developers in attendance, 25 partners showcasing at our tradeshow, and an even greater number viewing the live stream, we were able to share our vision for the future and the role our community of partners and customers will play in it.
How Do You Separate Today’s Threats From Today’s Opportunities? One word: Trust.
In the digital workplace, the strength of your technology must match the strength of your relationships. With the speed and scale of disruption transforming our workplace, businesses increasingly rely upon each other to innovate.
Can Facebook Square Its Past with Its Future?
Mark Zuckerberg’s recent blog post outlining Facebook’s new company vision was no less than a seismic shift in the tech space. The post promotes end-to-end encryption and user privacy. It recognizes Facebook’s widely criticized track record in user privacy by regulators and of course its user community. A shift of this magnitude reflects just how much the “digital” consumer opinion has changed on the topics of data privacy and security over the past several years.
